User determined backup schedule and frequency
You select your own schedule, down to the time, frequency and on which days to perform your backups. Backups can be scheduled to run once daily or as often as every four hours. Global datavault's backup solution for servers can be installed and configured in minutes.
Versioning and history
You can set your own retention policy for your online server backup. For example, you might want to keep the history of your most important data for 90 days or more, but only keep prior versions of other files for 30 days. Global datavault Online backup for servers allows you determine how much data to keep and for how long.
Fast scheduled backups
Global datavault backups are fast, even if your internet connection is not. We do this by only transmitting a new copy of files or parts of files that have changed since you last performed an online server backup. This is not the same thing as what is often called "incremental backup". Incremental backup is used in tape backup systems where the data from your servers is stored across a series of different tapes. With incremental backup, part of a file or database may be on one tape and another part on a tape made days later. This method is dangerously complex and known to fail. Global datavault's backup solution for servers stores all files and data in one location. The data is re-assembled on our servers after each backup ensuring you the ability to quickly restore your server without complications.
Class 1 data center reliability
All server data is stored in Class 1 data centers. Our systems offer multiple layers of redundancy - our servers and storage are redundant, and we have redundant power and HVAC. We even have connectivity from multiple sources. So even if our suppliers have down-time, we'll remain operational.
